We breed show quality birds in a great range of heritage and rare breeds.
All our breeds are chosen for their suitability for the family pet that will produce delicious eggs all through their life. They are chosen for their docile temperaments, high egg production and low maintainance, making them easy to care for and a pleasure to own. They are also chosen for their beauty!
The Plymouth Rock and Dorkings will happily live in a large pen but will greatly appreciate and benefit from a regular roam around your backyard, finding bugs and insects to munch on, when you let them out of their pen.
The Orpingtons don't need as much room. These chickens are very laid back, docile birds, despite being a larger bird. This breed is very popular with the children as they are easy to tame and are big fluffy, adorable chickens. They look more like a cuddly toy than a chicken!
The Hamburghs need room to free range as much as possible. They are great foragers and are a petite, elegant, beautiful looking bird. They are very economical to keep, yet still produce a regular sized egg and a lot of them!
All of these breeds are high egg producers but the Dorkings and Hamburghs production almost challenges the commercial layers!
A dozen fertile eggs is $50. We are happy to sell a mixed dozen. You can organise a time to pick up your eggs and have a wander around, meeting all our chickens and seeing all breeds or we can express post them to you for around $25-$30, depending where you are.
